Today was an profoundly and frustratingly unproductive day. The sky was overcast and oppressive, like bruises from yesterday's storm, and the humidity was a bazillion. I could work on Winifred because I could open a window to run the gerry-rigged exhaust system, and my head couldn't get into writing stuff.

The James Goho book has, I think, really done a number on my head. I suppose it ought not have, but it has, all the same. Someone has gone to the trouble to write a book about my fiction, and McFarland has seen fit to publish it. And it just will not sop seeming weird. Today's "I hope this is helping me get back into the story place" movie was a rewatch of Pacific Rim, because after two days of grim SF, I needed something light.

A day when an open window is like the door to a furnace. With the heat index, we made 103˚F before a few merciful afternoon thundershowers. Currently, it's 77˚F.
